"The Lord of the Manor" - I just love the sense of tradition behind those words. The title conveys a sense of domain and dignity that seems very British to me. I think many people have imagined life in a grand old manor house managing estates, maintaining a wonderful stable, perhaps riding to the hounds, and of course, enjoying afternoon tea.
